lame, lame, LAME!!!
Okay, now that we've learned their story, are we supposed to sympathize with Nicki and Paolo? What-ever. 'Cause they killed that perfectly nice old guy in cold blood. Unapologetically. For diamonds. Yeah, I know they're not the only murderers on the island, but the only character that has done worse things is Eko. And it would be pretty difficult to top him. Plus there was the failure to move the storyarc forward, the retconning and the giant plot holes.
Last week's episode notwithstanding (in which we learn how Locke got into the wheelchair), I'm beginning to accept that Lost has jumped the shark.

I agree Connie. Last night was the worst episode of Lost EVER!
I hated having Paolo and Nikki introduced this season. Lost has always made such a point of having the little details mean big things, so it really irked me how they were just inserted on the island like they had always been there.
I suspended my judgement because rumor had it that their insertion would pay off in the storyline. Now it appears that they have been used up as episode filler, in an ultra-lame episode that was basically the retelling of the age-old "buried alive" story.
Last night may be the beginning of the end. Despite some superb episodes this season, the show hasn't been as compelling or concise as Season One and Two. The season may be going out in the style of X-files.
My brother Mike commented last night on Locke saying "Nothing stays buried on this island" - so maybe this episode was some sort of setup for something that comes later - but man was that painful to watch. If next week's show sucks as bad - I'm done with Lost.
